Cocktails for Canned Food

PB’s premier beach lounge and eatery, The Duck Dive, will be holding their annual canned food drive from November 1st through November 22nd. Bring in canned food and get a Jameson Irish Coffee made with Jameson Whiskey, hot coffee and fresh cream float, sprinkled with ground nutmeg. All canned food donations will be going to the Jacob Cushman San Diego Food Bank, the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County.

 

Día de Los Muertos- Pacific Highlands Ranch

Celebrate life, death and the vibrant Mexican culture in honor of Día De Los Muertos at The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch! On Friday, November 2nd, The Village will be hosting a fiesta to commemorate this beloved tradition with free face painting and a live Mariachi band in the Village Square from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Sip and savor food and drink specials at participating restaurants – home to gourmet and casual dining options, award winning chefs, and mouthwatering cultural fare, The Village has plenty of options to choose from!

 

Have Your Pie…And Drink It, Too!

Each of Fig Tree Cafe’s three locations, in Pacific Beach, Hillcrest and Liberty Station, will be celebrating everyone’s favorite Thanksgiving dessert all November long! Stop in throughout the month to try the Thanksgiving Pie Mimosa Flight, consisting of four flavors: blueberry, strawberry rhubarb, apple and cherry. Each fruity and bubbly tasting is sweet enough to remind you of a heavenly slice of pie, and in our opinion…there is no such thing as too much pie.

Noche De Gala

On Saturday, November 3rd, make your way to the Coronado Island Marriott Resort from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. for the Noche De Gala, a benefit for the abandoned children of Baja. At the gala, enjoy a champagne greeted reception, wine and mezcal tastings, live music, and a three-course meal. All proceeds from tickets, which can be purchased here, will go directly to Corazon de Vida, a non-profit organization that provides life changing support for orphaned and abandoned children. Students will be on-site throughout the evening to share their experiences.

 

Head-To-Head: Coronado Brewing vs. Stone Brewing at Barrel Republic Carlsbad

Fierce competition, frosty brews and fellow beer enthusiasts – it’s a recipe for an unforgettable evening! On Monday, November 5th, Barrel Republic Carlsbad will be hosting a Head-To-Head competition between local favorites Coronado Brewing Co. and Stone Brewing Co. Presenting top beers from these two exciting breweries, this event will compare styled categories from each side for your evaluation! Voting will start at the beginning of the day, and the winner will be revealed at 8:00 p.m. Sweeten the deal with Barrel’s Burger Monday deal, a $6 plate piled high with the loaded Barrel Burger and fries.

 

San Diego’s Veteran’s Day Parade

On Monday, November 10th, come out to enjoy the San Diego Veteran’s Day Parade, a special tribute to all veterans and their families! The parade takes place along North Harbor Drive and is put on by Veterans Week San Diego, an all-volunteer team of Veterans and citizens of all ages and walks of life, dedicated to honoring Veterans annually. Parking can be tricky, so its best to utilize San Diego’s public transportation by taking the Trolley to the Santa Fe Depot.

 

A Foodie’s Type of Festival

Here’s some food for thought: Are you a foodie at heart? Do you enjoy a nice glass of wine? If you answered yes to both of those questions, then you’re in luck! Sunday, November 11th marks the first day of the weeklong San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival! Gather at the beautiful San Diego Bay to take part in San Diego’s famed food party. While relaxing with the fresh ocean air, sample dishes from over 60 celebrity chefs and restaurants. While you’re chowing down on some delicious delicacies, watch some of San Diego’s most talented chefs cook up some plates in the hopes of being crowned the Chef of the Fest! It’s time to meat up, fire up the grill, and sear-iously get excited for this year’s Pitmaster’s Veterans Day Barbeque on November 11th! Set at the exquisite Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Spa, take in the breathtaking views while learning from the best- Graham Elliot who you might recognize from Celebrity Chef, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, and Top Chef. Around-the-World Culinary Experience

Try bites from around the world at the 2018 World Eats Party hosted by San Diego Magazine at The Headquarters in Seaport Village. This event, taking place on Tuesday, November 13th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., will include nineteen different restaurants representing thirteen different countries along with live music, entertainment, and craft cocktails and beers. Participating food and drink vendors include Dumpling Inn & Shanghai Saloon, 1888 Rum and Puesto, among many others! Tickets, which are $55 and can be purchased here, will include unlimited access to food, drink, and a good time. Early arrivals will even receive a swag bag and copy of the San Diego Magazine’s November issue!

Uncorked: Derby Days Wine Fest

Stop and smell the rosé at Uncorked Derby Days Wine Fest being held on November 17th from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Open to anyone 21 and older, this event is held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and features a variety of wines from around the world, a champagne bar, and so much more! Ladies grab your hats and gents pull out your bow ties – derby attire is requested but not required. There will be a best hat and most dapper contest for the ladies and gents who do participate. Encinitas Holiday Street Fair

Nothing says holiday season like a family festival and the Encinitas Holiday Street Fair, on Sunday, November 19th is one the whole gang can enjoy. Located down the center of six blocks of scenic South Coast Highway 101, the fair is a one-day event from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Look forward to children’s rides, two stages of live entertainment, and tons of vendors booths with arts, handmade crafts, antiques and ethnic imports. There will also be food and drinks, and the 40 plus restaurants surrounding the holiday fair will be open to visit as well. These Tacos are a Knockout

Sunday, November 18th marks the can’t-miss taco event of the year- Taco TKO. During the 7th annual taco cook-off at South Promenade at Liberty Station, the best tacos from some of the most acclaimed taco chefs around the country are weighing in and facing off. Vote for your favorites while munching on tasty tacos accompanied by music, tequila, and beer. Who will win in this tremendous tortilla tussle? Get in the Holiday Spirit!

The Adam’s Avenue Business Association is hosting their 3rd annual Adams Avenue Spirit Stroll on November 24th, a day also known as ‘Small Business Saturday’. From 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., sample holiday cocktails specially curated by bars/restaurants, so you can sip while you shop the best of Adams Avenue. 12 retail locations will be featuring cocktails crafted by spots like Polite Provisions, Cucina Sorella, Rabbit Hole and Kensington Club, among many others. Advanced tickets for $20 can be purchased here, or will be $25 the day of the event.

 

Taste + Tequila Old Town

If you love tequila and free parking, take note! On November 29th from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. you’ll have the chance to celebrate both at Taste + Tequila Old Town. Enjoy food from Old Town restaurants, spirits, music, and entertainment. Tickets can be purchased in advance by clicking here or you can visit the will call table next to the Old Town trolley on Twiggs and San Diego Avenue at 3:00 p.m. to purchase tickets the day of the event. Tickets range from $25-$40 and include a tequila sampling and specialty tequila cocktail, as well as featured food from participating restaurants. Food only tickets will also be available for purchase! Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards The San Diego Chamber of Commerce’s efforts to preserve the free parking in Old Town.

 

Go Ramen Crazy!

The most soup-erb day of the year is coming up on Thursday, November 29th at Port Pavilion on the Broadway Pier. From 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., enjoy everything the San Diego Ramen Festival has to offer, including access to ramen from over a dozen local vendors. Sample and slurp, while enjoying a ramen eating contest, ramen inspired art by local artists, live entertainment, and even a beer garden. You can even become a judge for the day by voting on your favorite bowl in the Best Ramen competition! San Diego is so excited about this event that General Admission tickets are already sold out, but you can purchase VIP Experience tickets here.
