Breakfast Republic is launching their May beverage specials, which include a Creamsicle Mimosa that tastes like a summertime treat! Vanilla, Fresh OJ and a little cream will remind you of that childhood favorite, but with an adult twist of brut sparkling. You can also enjoy their Iced Cherry Mocha, which tastes just like a chocolate covered cherry. This breakfast beverage has a nice mild cherry flavor balanced with espresso, mocha and milk, and a little whipped cream and a dusting of mocha finish it off.
Old Town Cinco de Mayo Fiesta | Friday, May 3rd – Sunday, May 5th
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Old Town’s three-day festival, beginning Friday, May 3rd. Asian Cultural Festival of San Diego | Saturday, May 4th
May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and the 10th Annual Asian Cultural Festival of San Diego will be held on Saturday, May 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Held at the Mira Mesa Community Park, this FREE event features two stages of cultural and traditional performances from a dozen countries and cultures, including Japan, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Korea, Myanmar, Indonesia, Hawaii, Cambodia, Thailand, Taiwan, Polynesia, and more! There will also be martial arts demos, children’s arts and crafts, video game competitions, cooking demos, Asian food vendors and much more.
Cinco de Mayo Lucha-Mania at Mavericks | Sunday, May 5th
PB’s top party destination, Mavericks Beach Club, is going big for Cinco de Mayo this year with a Cinco De Mayo Lucha-Mania fiesta! From Noon to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5th, the beach bar will have a full-size wrestling ring with professional luchadores from Mexico, announcers and wrestling matches, including a battle royale at the end of the evening! The first match will begin at 2:30 p.m. so don’t be late. There will also be a ring-side bar, street taco station, taco eating contest during half-time of the wrestling competition, tons of giveaways and much more!
Gator by the Bay | Thursday, May 9th – Sunday, May 12th
If you’re looking for music, dancing, food and fun, look no further than Gator by the Bay, a Louisiana food and crawfish festival held at the Spanish Landing, across from the San Diego Airport. From Thursday, May 9th through Sunday, May 12th, enjoy non-stop music from blues, Cajun, swing, salsa, country and jazz artists on the seven stages setup throughout the event. There will also be cooking demos by Southern chefs, delicious Creole and Cajun food, including over 10,000 pounds of live crawfish straight from Louisiana.
