Get out your lederhosen and head to the Ocean Beach Oktoberfest, taking place Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th. Activities include a beer garden (for those 21+), both women’s and men’s stein-holding contests, a bratwurst-eating contest, live entertainment and much more! There will also be a Brewfest unlimited beer tasting, featuring German and local brews, for $40 on Saturday, from Noon to 3:00 p.m.

La Jolla Art & Wine Festival | Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th
La Jolla’s free Art and Wine Festival returns for its 11th year and features over 150 artists from across the U.S. and Mexico. Their creations come in a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, jewelry design, fine glass, ceramics, woodwork, mixed media and photography. The iconic wine and beer garden highlights over 40 international wineries, local craft breweries and craft distilleries! There will also be a family art center, two-day silent auction, 15 different pet adoption stations and plenty of live entertainment and music.
11th Annual Día De Los Muertos | Saturday, October 19th
La Vista Memorial Park, in National City, is proud to present the 11th Annual Día De Los Muertos experience, on Saturday, October 19th from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Día de los Muertos – Day of the Dead – is rooted in centuries of Aztec culture and is a celebration to honor the dearly departed, based on the belief that during this time the spirits of the departed return to visit the living. 5th Annual San Diego Mac n’ Cheese Fest | Saturday, October 26th
San Diego’s favorite food festival, the Mac n’ Cheese Fest, is back for its 5th year and promises to be bigger and better than ever! Trick or Trot 5k/1-Mile Fun Run | Sunday, October 27th
San Diego’s annual Trick or Trot 5k/1-Mile Fun Run is taking place on Sunday, October 27th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Balboa Park/Morley Field. Runners and walkers are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes, and prizes will be awarded for best individual costumes, small and large group best costumes, as well as fastest runners. This fundraiser brings together students, families, alumni, neighbors, and local businesses to support Roosevelt’s After School Clubs and Enrichment Programs. There will also be entertainment from the Roosevelt Middle School Band, a DJ, supporter booths, pumpkin decorating, face painting, a pumpkin race, and so much more – register on the event website today!
